10/2/18

Dallas, TX, Oct. 02, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Magna5, a national provider of cloud, managed IT and professional services, today announced the appointment of Scott Alcott to its board of directors. Alcott is an award-winning executive, recognized as one of the most influential global chief information officers (CIO).

From 2012 - 2018, Alcott served as CIO of Comcast Cable, one of the largest video, high-speed internet and phone providers to residential and business customers, globally. In this role, Alcott was charged with oversight of all Comcast Cable’s infrastructure, operations, software development, systems engineering and lifecycle management, including more than 650 core services and corporate line-of-business IT systems.

Alcott’s tenure at Comcast is highlighted by the service provider’s successful digital transformation. As the second CIO in Comcast’s history, he is credited with streamlining operations across the organization, significantly increasing productivity, and implementing progressive business models that delivered higher flow-through and superior customer experiences. Comcast’s digital transformation not only increased the volume of digital transactions, it also fostered new opportunities for partner marketing, sales and distribution.

“Scott Alcott is one of the most accomplished, talented and forward-thinking executives in the world,” said Magna5 Chairman and CEO, Rick Lottie. “His success in numerous technical, operational, commercial and executive posts comprise an unparalleled track record at the highest levels of international commerce.

“We are excited to have Scott join our board of directors and look forward to his contributions and insight. The wealth of knowledge and diverse expertise he brings to Magna5 will help us navigate an evolving market and ascend to a position of national prominence.”

Prior to joining Comcast, Alcott served as Executive Committee Member with various C-level operating roles (1999 –2012) at Belgacom, S.A., a $7 billion Belgium telecom company. Reporting directly to the CEO, he occupied the most senior role in critical technical, operational, commercial and business unit functions, which included chief executive and chairman of various subsidiaries.

“I am honored to join renowned business leaders like Jim Ashton, Skip Maner and Rick Lottie on Magna5’s esteemed board of directors,” said Alcott. “With businesses nationwide consuming applications as a service from the cloud, Magna5 is very well-positioned to capitalize on the universal need for a managed services provider on which organizations can rely for IT, infrastructure, IP telephony and cybersecurity. By combining an award-winning portfolio with the backing and expertise of a premier private equity partner in NewSpring, Magna5 has assembled the necessary ingredients for sustained growth and long-term success.”
